Consultancy
Assignments	: (1) August, 1998 onwards - As Consultant for Shivji Group of
                     Companies in Tanzania, East Africa

I have been associated with this Business House since 1994 and
have been responsible for developing strategies in switching
business portfolio from a consumer goods importer to a
manufacturer of nation-wide reckoning. This involved a careful
charting of course in an environment where competition and
privatisation are the buzz words. There are several plans for
diversifying into products that have synergy with the current
businesses. I am spearheading the implementation of those along
with strengthening of current manufacturing lines.

                    (2) July, 1997 to July, 1998 - As Corporate Advisor and
Consultant to The MGT Group of Companies, Dubai, UAE

The Group has several business activities including trading,
clearing and forwarding and health and safety training in the
                    Gulf and CIS countries.

The main responsibility was to create a corporate development
plan and thereby rationalise the investment portfolio of the
Group. The Plan incorporated financial restructuring, divestment
strategies for a manufacturing project and development of new
projects. In addition, it required re-engineering of a "problem"
safety training company, employing expatriate personnel from UK,
USA, Australia and Malaysia, that has branches in Qatar and
                    Azerbaijan.

                    (3) One-year Assignment starting February, 1997 in Vanuatu,
South Pacific - As the Team Leader of a 5-man Commonwealth
                    Secretariat Team

At the behest of the Government of Vanuatu, a thorough study was
mounted with the view to identify viable industrial projects
followed by preparation of feasibility reports and
identification of prospective entrepreneurs. It was a
multinational team with experts drawn from Australia, New
Zealand and India. Towards structuring commercially viable
projects, the team had to visit and carry out extended research
in neighbouring countries, such as Australia, New Zealand,
Indonesia, and the Philippines in search of export markets. The
findings have been presented to the Commonwealth Secretariat.
